Marketing campaigns for a Japanese restaurant in Markham, Ontario

Client Name: Wagyu Suki

Wagyu Suki is a Japanese restaurant located in Markham, Ontario. It specializes in Kansai-style sukiyaki and a variety of ways to enjoy wagyu.

My Role: Brand Designer

In this project, the client wanted to give its brand a facelift by designing a new visual identity. I came up with the key message “Sharing the happiness of Oishii”. The phrase "Oishii (美味しい)” is a popular exclamation made by Japanese to express the satisfaction when they tasted something delicious. This key message is meant to convey the idea of sharing that moment of satisfaction by dining in Wagyu Suki.

Working closely with the marketing team, we have successfully launched a Grand Opening Campaign with a great results: Wagyu Suki was fully booked during the event period and have gained over a thousand new followers on Instagram overnight.

I was responsible for the full visual and user experience design of the website. I created wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity UI designs that aligned with the brand’s identity and project goals. Throughout the project, I worked closely with the front-end developer to ensure smooth implementation of the design, providing detailed assets, design specifications, and feedback to maintain consistency and optimize usability.
